Client Reviews

In their own words

MC

Marcus C.

British national, Chiang Mai

"I came to the first appointment not knowing what to expect or where things stood legally. The conversation was unhurried — genuinely so — and the written summary they sent afterwards was exactly what I needed to take stock before deciding what to do next. I have not felt pushed in any direction."

Pornpimol W.

Thai national, Hang Dong

"The child support matter took about three months from start to finish. Nattapon was clear about what each step would involve and what it would cost before we moved forward. There were a few moments where things were more complicated than expected, and they told me about those promptly rather than after the fact."

David H.

Australian national, Nimmanhaemin

"Court representation is daunting — I had no experience of Thai courts at all. Siriporn explained the process in plain terms and the pleadings were drafted thoroughly. I always knew what was scheduled and why. The outcome was one I could accept."

Nattakarn T.

Thai national, San Sai

"What I valued most was that the written summary after the first appointment gave me something to re-read at home when I had time to think. I could see exactly what my choices were without having to remember everything that was said during the meeting."

Jean-Baptiste M.

French national, Old City

"I was in an unusual situation — French national, Thai wife, mixed legal picture. The practice was familiar with exactly this kind of complexity. Communication was in English throughout and the explanation of the relevant Thai law was clear enough to follow."

Sumalee R.

Thai national, Doi Saket

"I had approached another practice beforehand and left feeling more confused than when I arrived. The difference here was significant. The conversation felt purposeful from the start and I left with a clear sense of what my situation actually was."

Case Studies

How matters have unfolded

The following are illustrative of the kind of matters we handle. Details have been changed to protect the individuals involved.

First appointment leading to an informed decision not to proceed

The Situation

A foreign national had been told by a friend that a separation of this type in Thailand would inevitably lead to court proceedings. He came to the first appointment anxious and uncertain whether to begin the process at all.

The Conversation

We explored the actual circumstances together. It became clear that the matter was considerably less complex than the client had understood, and that a negotiated arrangement was more appropriate than any formal proceeding.

The Outcome

The client left with a written summary of his situation and chose not to proceed with formal legal action. He returned six months later to have the negotiated arrangement documented — a much simpler and less costly process.

Child maintenance arrangement formalised without proceedings

The Situation

A Thai mother and British father had separated. There was no hostility between them, but the financial arrangements for the children had become inconsistent and neither party was confident what the law required.

The Work

We reviewed the legal framework for child maintenance in Thailand, assessed the financial circumstances of both parties, and drafted a maintenance agreement that both were willing to sign without formal proceedings.

Timeline & Result

The matter was concluded in approximately eight weeks. The resulting agreement provided a clear and enforceable basis for the children's maintenance going forward, without the cost or stress of contested proceedings.

Family court representation in a contested custody matter

The Situation

A custody dispute had become contested, with both parties unwilling to reach agreement through negotiation. Court proceedings were necessary. The client had no prior experience of Thai court process and found the prospect overwhelming.

The Representation

We prepared the case thoroughly, drafted the pleadings and witness statements, explained what to expect at each scheduled hearing, and attended and represented the client throughout. We revisited cost and prospects discussions at each stage.

The Result

Proceedings concluded after approximately five months. The client obtained an arrangement that reflected the children's best interests as the court saw them. The client has since said that knowing what to expect at each stage made the process manageable.
