About the Practice
A practice built on listening
Pikul Family was founded in Chiang Mai to provide family law counsel that puts the person — not the case — at the centre of every matter.

Named for the garden it overlooks
Pikul Family takes its name from the pikul flower garden at 312 Huay Kaew Road — a quiet corner of Suthep that has shaped the character of the practice since it first opened its doors. The pikul, with its small, persistent blossoms and steady fragrance, felt like a fitting symbol for work that proceeds at a careful pace and stays close to what matters most.
The practice was established to fill a particular gap: people facing family matters in Chiang Mai who wanted legal counsel delivered with patience and without the sense that they were simply moving a file through a system. We work with both Thai nationals and foreign nationals resident in Thailand, and our appointments are conducted in English throughout.
Family law is not a field where speed always serves the client. We have built our practice around the opposite principle — that taking the time to understand a situation fully is what allows us to give advice that is actually useful. The first appointment is unhurried by design. The written summaries we provide after each meeting exist because we believe clients should leave with something concrete, not just a conversation.
Our Mission
To provide family law counsel that is measured, transparent, and genuinely responsive to the person in front of us — not the type of matter they represent.
Our Approach
We discuss costs and prospects openly before any matter proceeds, and we revisit those discussions as circumstances develop. Clients always know where they stand.
Our Values
Consideration, candour, and discretion. We do not pressure clients toward any particular course of action; the decision is always theirs to make.
The People Here
Who you will meet
Siriporn Lertchaiwong
Principal Counsel
Over fourteen years advising families on separation and child matters under Thai law. Siriporn established Pikul Family to offer the kind of sustained attention that larger practices find difficult to maintain.
Nattapon Kraiwong
Associate, Family Proceedings
Nattapon focuses on family court representation and the preparation of complex pleadings. He brings particular experience in cross-cultural family matters involving foreign nationals.
Wilaiporn Phaibun
Client Relations & Administration
Wilaiporn manages client appointments and correspondence. She is usually the first point of contact for new enquiries and works to ensure the experience of approaching the practice is as easy as possible.
Standards We Uphold
How the practice operates
Thai Bar Association membership
All counsel practising here hold current Thai Bar Association licences and adhere to the professional conduct rules set by the Lawyers Council of Thailand.
Professional confidentiality
Everything shared with the practice is protected by legal professional privilege. We do not discuss client matters outside the practice without consent.
Written summaries after every appointment
We provide a written record of each appointment so that clients have a clear reference for what was discussed and what the available options are.
Fee transparency
Fees are disclosed before work begins. We revisit cost discussions as a matter develops, so there are no unexpected charges.
Data protection compliance
Client data is handled in accordance with the Thai Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We store information securely and do not share it with third parties without authorisation.
English-language practice
All appointments and written communications are available in English, making the practice accessible to expatriate families and foreign nationals in Chiang Mai.
Family law counsel in Chiang Mai
Pikul Family practises exclusively in family law matters arising in Thailand, with particular experience in matters before the Chiang Mai Family Court. The practice handles the full range of family proceedings: initial consultations, child maintenance and support arrangements, and full representation through contested hearings.
The Suthep area of Chiang Mai has a substantial population of foreign nationals in long-term residence, many of whom face family matters that intersect Thai law with the laws of their home country. Navigating these situations requires counsel that understands both the formal Thai legal framework and the practical circumstances of living as a foreign national in the north of Thailand. This is an area of particular focus at Pikul Family.
We believe that the quality of legal counsel in family matters is as much about how the work is done as what is achieved. A client who understands what is happening at each stage, who has a clear record of the advice they received, and who feels that their situation was treated with care, is better placed to make good decisions throughout what is often a difficult period. That is the standard we work to maintain.
